And what now? A FOURTH BLOODY SEASON. I hope the name of the fourth season isn’t a spelling error that involves an extra “X”, and that it doesn’t reflect how worksafe the series is.

Therefore, I’m right. Most people are just too embarrassed to admit that they like watching girls flashing their panties while fighting, or drooling when their shirts rip from the intense action (HOHO, WHAT KIIINDDD of action is another story =3=).

Ikkitousen XX (Xtreme Xecutor) is slated to begin airing next Spring (April 2010), and it will introduce a new character who is loosely based on Ma Chao, voiced by Endo Aya (lol, imagine Sheryl Nome fighting in sailor fuku XD XD XD).

I don’t particularly care for Endo Aya, and her new character doesn’t appeal to me. As long as Kanu Unchou (Guan Yu) comes back, I’m happy. XD

All I wanted to say was… this series is total *heart throb*. I currently have 3 tissues on my table (well, also taking into consideration the fact that I have a cold) after watching the 1st ep. It’s SO CUTE!!! Mamiko as Sawako really hits the spot too. How I’ve missed Mamiko in half-decent roles (which she hasn’t really had in a while… I mean, come on, Queen’s Blade? =_=)!

I don’t tend to do summaries and stuff for series I like because, well, they’re worth watching for yourself. Give it a swing, shoujo-lovers!

Anyway, anime is still, somehow, on the top of my list of priorities.  Someone should really knock some sense into me.  Nonetheless, no one’s reading this to find out about my boring life.  On to Kampfer.

I get the impression that many denizens of the intrawebs aren’t too fond of this series.  I, personally, have never read the manga, so I don’t know how it compares.  However, this is my take on it.  Let’s start this off with the normal format of my boring posts (yes, I’m the type who lives by routine, form is everything).

Summary:
Senou Natsuru is your typical high school guy… however typical guys can be (excuse the sexist comment).  He receives a creepy stuffed animal from his crush, Sakura.  The stuffed animal is essentially a nasty little tiger with it’s intestines hanging out.  One day the tiger comes to live and tells Natsuru that he is a Kampfer, a “chosen one” who has to fight as a girl.  This, obviously, means that he has to transfer into a girl whenever he fights.  After finding out, he encounters another Kampfer who wants to shoot an extra hole into his ass.  However, she appears at an inconvenient time as Natsuru happened to run into Sakura.  So the fight begins, and Natsuru manages to transform into a girl without Sakura noticing.  He/she fights the other Kampfer, who’s a red-head, hot-blooded gunslinger, and in the process, manages to save her from being crushed by a telephone pole.  Sakura, who witnessed the entire fight, found female Natsuru highly attractive, and thus, complicates things for Natsuru’s feeble heart. =_= Later on, Natsuru finds out that the Kampfer, Akane, is on the same “team” as he is, and they become friends. Another threat eventually shows up, and it turns out that Shizuku, the school president, is an Kampfer on the opposing team.  And the story continues…

My thoughts:
The storyline isn’t mind-blowing.  Kind of amusing, but not spectacular.  However, I find this show highly amusing due to the KIND of humour presented here.  I love how they ignore the fourth wall, and constantly throw insults at each other’s seiyuu.  The one part where Natsuru and Akane were talking about Akane’s black bunny, the “Tamura Yukari-sound-alike”, was especially amusing.  They also made reference to the old lady who voiced Shizuka in Doraemon, and poked fun at Horie Yui as Akane.  In the second episode, I had a nice laugh at the Mizuki Nana moment.  Other than poking fun at seiyuu, they also parody other shows.  At the end of the preview of the 3rd episode, one can see the infamous Marimite scene, except with the characters replaced.  All in all, the parodies and the inside jokes really make this show a lot more enjoyable than most people seem to think.

Ok, onto my quick thoughts and views.

Tomorrow’s Chance reminded me of Ameagari no Hana no Sake as soon as I heard it.  I don’t know what else to say about it… it sounds very similar.  I initially hated Ameagari no Hana no Sake, but I eventually grew to like it.  I’m still undecided about Tomorrow’s Chance, but given time, maybe I’ll like it.

Sunshine Flower started a little promising… I liked the instrumental intro, and somehow expected it to explode into something majestic. It clearly didn’t, and then, eh, Minorin came in.  I don’t know, the way she sings the song really ticks me off.  I looped the song around 3 times, and these are my thoughts during the 3 playbacks.
#1: “Um… ok, let’s just give it another go.”
#2: “OMGAH its getting annoying.”
#3: *Closes iTunes*
I really don’t like it.  It’s happy, giddy, and very annoying.

My thoughts on the single?  I’m greatly disappointed.  I’m not happy.  And the scans aren’t that great. LOL.  I really think the CD cover doesn’t fit the content of the single at all.  Anyway, no one really cares about how I feel about the single.  Everyone’s just here for the scans.  Well, enjoy.  I actually left them clickable as opposed to my normal downsizing.  Knock yourselves out.

In terms of the actual song itself, I’m sure I don’t need to talk much about it… since most K-on! watchers are probably like me and have rewatched the stupid ED over and over again. XD

However, I’m amused by the second song on the single: Sweet Bitter Beauty Song.  It’s not as upbeat as Don’t Say “Lazy”, but in terms of the actual melody, I think it’s more unique (was it written in a minor key? Excuse my ignorance for anything music-related).  I actually like Mio’s singing, even if her voice is a little high for actual ROCK songs.  I’d also like to mention the keyboard in the song was interesting… you don’t actually hear a lot of keyboard chords being jammed in real rock songs. XD  Well, they are the “LIGHT” music club after all…

The voice-acting continues to impress.  It was ultimate MOE~ when Yui bumped into the man crossing the street, when Mio imagined the worst case scenarios finding a job, or when Ritsu proudly boasted about her bargaining skills.

I doubt I’ll write about K-on! again, but if one is up for some cute humour, mixed w/ MOEness, and an absolutely awesome character (MIO IS MY WAIFU!!!), watch K-on!  The ED is super catchy too… the fact that I’m still watching it after the second episode (I normally skip the OPs and EDs after the first) only goes to show how much I like it. :)

Anyway… spoilers ahead, please don’t click to continue if you don’t want to be bombarded with boobilicious screencaps (ps I watched the uncensored version, so I apologize for the uncensored boobs), “storyline spoilers” (not that there’s much of a story anyway…), and OtaAgg’s rants.

Summary (Must I really do one???):
Story starts with Leina/Reina (voiced by Kawasumi Ayako) questioning a bunny girl saying: “Are you the one attacking travelers?”  Turns out the psychopathic bunny girl is the Swamp Witch, Melona (voiced by Kugimiya Rie… OMG WHY???), who’s trying to defeat strong warriors to earn the right to compete in the Queen’s Blade tournament.  Leina proceeds to try to kick Melona’s bunny ass, but Melona turns out to be too much of a match, especially with her tit-acid attack (excuse the vulgar choice of words… but that’s essentially what it was).  Just before Melona deals a final blow (probably by squeezing her boobies in Leina’s face), Risty (Kaida Yuko) comes along and saves her.

Risty interferes, and Melona retreats temporarily

Leina turns out to be a princess running away from home.  Risty brings her back for the sake of 300 gold coins, and is captured by Claudette (Tanaka Atsuko) as she is a wanted criminal.  A bit of normal talking goes on, something about Leina being the heir to the family, despite having an older sister (Claudette) and a younger one (Elina, voiced by Mizuhashi Kaori).

Claudette scolds Leina for running away, and reminds her that she's the successor of the family

Suddenly, there is chaos in the castle.  Risty breaks out of prison, and sneaks into the treasure room.  She finds armour and lots of gold, which she carries with her.  In order to hide from the guards, she sneaks into Leina’s room.  Leina hides her as Claudette bursts into her room, with Elina close behind her heels.  Claudette, despite sensing Risty’s presence, decides to leave, which causes Elina to leave shortly after.  In thanks, Risty gives Leina the armour she stole, which turns out to be the Leina’s family heirloom.  She then escapes out the window with the leftover gold.

Risty gives Leina the armour... meaning Leina is, indeed, stealing from her own family. =_=

Then it gets even more chaotic.  Melona appears out of nowhere, claiming to take Leina life for calling her a monster.  In the meantime, Claudette catches up with Risty, and the two of them fight.  Melona has no new tricks, and continues to spray milk acid out of her boobies.  Leina comes up with a new trick, and with the help of her new armour (which is somehow immune to Melona’s acid…), she makes Melona’s boobies explode.

Oooo... pissed off Kugimiya Ri... I mean, Melona. I bet KugiRie wished she had boobs like these.

Claudette chases after Risty... uh oh, Risty looks like she's in trouble...

Can someone explain to me how boobies can expand and explode?

The episode ends with… Risty somehow dragging Leina out of the castle, and the two of them embarking on a new adventure.

Can someone shoot me please? I felt like I just wasted 20 minutes of my life watching this stupid show.

OtaAgg’s Rant:
As any seiyuu fan would notice, Queen’s Blade is clearly overbloated with seiyuu talent.  Just this episode alone, you have Kawasumi Ayako, Kugimiya Rie, Hirano Aya, and Tanaka Atsuko to name a few.  You’re talking about the voices behind Saber, Nodame, Matsuri-chan… Shana-tan, Taiga… Haruhi, Konata… and ZOMG… KUSANAGI MOTOKO!  I believe my beloved Noto Mamiko will be in the next episode… but I think I’ve made my point about this production having too many good seiyuu.

My question is… WHY?

From what I know, seiyuu generally have to audition for roles.  WHY WOULD THESE GREAT PEOPLE AUDITION FOR ROLES FOR SUCH A SHIITTTTTTTYYYYYY series?!  Hopefully, I’m praying that they were actually hired without having to audition, it would make me feel a little better about this whole thing.  This series is nothing but excessive fanservice, outrageous battle tactics, and… UGH.  I can’t think of a single positive thing to say about the first episode at all.

My primary dissatisfaction with the first episode was KugiRie’s character: Melona.  WHY DID SHE TAKE UP SUCH A ROLE?  She was a nasty bunny girl with pink hair (I have yet to find a character with pink hair that I do not dislike), had hands either serving to cover her nipples, or to grope and squeeze her boobs, and was just a thoroughly disgusting character overall.  The way she was defeated was even more disturbing: exploding boobies??? EXPLODING BOOBIES??? OMG WHAT WERE THE PRODUCERS THINKING?!?! Oh… why did she choose to voice such a character??? *cries*

With all that said, OtaAgg is still going to watch the second episode.  I want to hear my Mamiko, and I refuse to give up until I do.

I’m in love. XD

Like, ok, it’s not like the show blew me away.  But a super clumsy, ultra-ditzy girl who just screams MOOOEEEEE (spoken the way Akiba Meguru would say it XD) is totally fine with me. XD  Not to mention a hot bass player (I have a thing for bass players, don’t ask why.  Long long long story lol), a hyperactive drummer, and a very ojou-sama-ish character as … a keyboard…ist?

I thought the voice acting was pretty good too!  No one sounded particularly stiff, and I loled at the part where Yui lies about playing the harmonica and apologizes directly afterwards. XD  Another notable moment was when Mio was telling them that they were going off-topic talking about snack and receives a kick in the shin from Ritsu. XD  I don’t really know too much about the leads of the show: Toyosaki Aki as Yui, Satou Satomi as Ritsu, Hikasa Youko as Mio (MIO IS MY WAIFU), and Kotobuki Minako as Tsumugi.  I only know Toyosaki as Yoshino from Minami-ke (who didn’t stand out in my opinion), Satou Satomi as that annoying high-pitched useless girl lead in Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae (I don’t even remember her name…),  and I don’t even know the other two.  The voice acting wasn’t too bad at all though, so I’m relatively impressed.

The OP an ED aren’t bad, being sung by the seiyuu.  Actually, I really like the ED, both the song and the animation.  Hisaka Youko’s singing voice is relatively suited for the rockin’ ED, and the ending was done in the form of a PV, which I found really amusing.  I particularly liked that one part where Mio was looking left and right. XD  ~Please don’t say you are lazy~ Ah it’s stuck. =_=

Sorry, this post was just done on a whim, so no screenies, no summaries, etc.  I really do recommend watching at least the first episode though, I found it rather humourous. ^^
