j1m0ne already has a post on KitaEri’s single… though the link only links you to the newest one she’s got. She’s commented previously on the songs. However, here’s my two bits after listening to her single.
I absolutely LOVE Realize. Absolutely.love.it. I love the whole japanese pop-rock feel to it… it sounds kinda like a female version of Uverworld. Just slightly XD. It also reminded me slightly of Aozora no Namida, one of the OPs for Blood+, which KitaEri voiced the lead (Saya) for. There were parts of the song where she sounded slightly like Mizuki Nana, especially where she held the note around 2:49. In a way she sounded kinda like Hirano Aya (I’M SORRY KITAERI!!!!), but minus her overly exaggerated vibratto. I have to admit, I like Aya’s voice (at least as a seiyuu), and I think she’d be a decent singer if she’d just stop trying so hard to sing… just let it flow, be more natural.
With all that said, I think KitaEri’s got an amazing voice, superb singing talent, and she (or her producers) chose a style the fits her well. I remember listening some clip from some seiyuu CD from a while back… a snipbit from Hyakka Seiran, the seiyuu anime-song CD cover. I adored KitaEri’s cover of Aozora no Namie and Ranbo Revolution… and after listening to Realize, it just sealed my newfound fandom for her.
Her otaku personality is also something im relatively fond of… and her yuri yuri tendencies. Still… her music is something that is separate… and I must definitely praise her for her new single. If shipping wasn’t so bloody expensive, I would probably by this CD.
Oh, I forgot to talk about Be Naked. Be Naked, the 2nd song on the single, wasn’t exactly to my tastes. It’s not badly sung, but I dont like it as much as I liked Realize. She did say “Be Naked” in comprehendible English, so thats a few points for her there (as opposed to Nana’s “SHOOTING STA & CRESHENT MOON or SHINY RAVU & GARAKSHI” in Astrogation).
One last thing…
If she claims to be so flat, why would they include a boob shot in the CD booklet? How many inches of padding do you think she used for this? XD
15 inches of tissue and padding maybe?
Seriously, I don’t care that shipping made up 43% of the total cost for the CD – REALIZE is well worth it.
